Planter Box Plans – Cedar!

Hey friends!

I am LOVING these new cedar planter boxes I made for the front entry!

How cute are those babies?

Of course I teamed up with my sweet friend,Miss Ana White to design them!  I will share some of my tips and tricks here, and you can access thefull set of plans over on her site!

So… Let’s get started!

I used all cedar boards to construct these!I knew I wanted these to stand the test of time, so I used myKreg Jigfor the whole build!

Ash and Ijust shared a video on how easy it us to use a Kreg Jigand just what the heck it is!  You can check that outHERE!

I built all of my frames first.  Here is what they looked like and where I did my pocket holes!

The wider frame…

And the skinnier frame here!

Once those were done I used my fence posts along the back.  I used my favorite nailer for this part!

Ryobi AirStrike Cordless Nailer

This guy is the bomb.  So easy and no cords or compressors to lug around.  Plus… It will shoot up to a 2″ nail.  Woohoo!

This is what all of my frames looked like…

I decided to build up the base so I wouldn’t need to use as much soil.  I used 2×2 pressure treated boards attached with wood screws like this to build the base…

Then, I just planked over that with extra fence pieces… Easy!

I like to line my pots with landscaping fabric.  This is really cheap and comes on a big roll.  I just cut several layers and staple them around the edge of the box before filling them with soil.

I used my very favorite Rust-Oleum Ultimate Wood Stain in Dark Walnut to finish it off.

Because these would be outside in the Texas ‘elements’ I also finished off both boxes with Rust-Oleum Spar Varnish.

You can get both of these at Lowe’s!

That’s it!  I filled these babies up with some of my favorite plants and I love the way they transformed my entry!  What do you think??

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Remember to check out thefull set of plans over on Ana’s site!

I would LOVE for you to PIN and SHARE these planter boxes with your peeps!

Have an awesome Wednesday!
